Open-up Procedures for Benedetti Pines

Opening up after Winterization:

Step 1- Close all faucets- Bathroom sink, utility room, kitchen sink and bathtub.

Step 2- Take the ladder outside and place in well pit.  Becareful not to hit the well pump with the ladder on the way down.

Step 3- Close the water system drain valves.  Remember, these are located behind the ladder.  Close them both. (Righty Tighty)

Step 4- Now you want to open 2 the hot water vavles located on top of the hot water tank.  Open them both up. (Lefty Loosy)

Step 5- Open the red valve next to the blue water tank.  This will re-pressurize the water system, so don't be surprised it you hear water starting to fill the water lines back up. (Lefty Loosy on this valve too)

Step 8- Remove the ladder from the well pit and put wooden covers back on well pit.

Step 6- Plug the Well Pump back in to outlet.  Careful, pump should start running!

Step 7- Shut the trebble light off.  (unless the temps outside are still below 20 degrees.)

Step 10- Need to walk to each sink and open each faucet to release air fromthe water lines.  If water is flowing out of the hot water sides, you can go to breaker box in closet and turn hot water breaker on.   Should be #2 or #5.

Step 11- turn the heat up on the thermostat using left button (red), turn heat up to 68 degrees.

Step 9-Put ladder back in closet or in utility room.

Sumerize Close up Procedures:

Look in fridge for parishables and an open containers that may spoil or leak- Throw them out!

Clean Toilet- Cleaner is under the sink and brush is next to toilet.

Vaccuum all carpets and area rugs, sweep kitchen tile and hardwood floor.  Also sweep and wash bathroom floor.

Take all Garbage and empty boxes and containers with you.  Double check trash cans in bedrooms and bath are empty.

Next look on the buffet and table for dry goods that are open and take them with you as open containers may spoil & attract ants.

Wash & Dry all Dished in sink, look around cabin for stray cups & dishes.  Look in fridge for dishes

Everything must be washed first.-Go in Breaker Pannel box and turn off breaker #2 and #5.  One is well pit and the other is hot water tank.

Cleaning supplies (Scrubbing bubbles) are under the bathroom sink.  Wash bathroom sink.

Turn heat down to 50 dregrees.

Lock the barn door handle handset and both dead bolts. Next take some fire wood in to cabin next to woodburner & then check that the shed is all locked up.  Also check that the gas grill gas valve is off.

Be sure that all fires are completely extinuished and clean out the wood stove ashes and dump them in in fire pit.

Cover the TV & Radio, double check curtins are closed and windows & Doors are locked. Check that the dead bolts are locked and put the enterance gate back up and lock it-  Thanks, have a safe drive home and see you again, next time at Benedetti Pines!

Put all plastic chairs & picnic tables back in Barn.  Sweep floor and remove all trash.  Check all overhead doors
are locked and turn off all lights.
